New Hidden Hills Subdivision In Navasota Almost Ready For Tenants As City Council Approves Utilities

Phase one of the new Hidden Hills subdivision in Navasota is nearing completion.
Development services director Guadalupe Diosdado recently presented a resolution for accepting the underground utility implementation for 30 of the 105 total homes that will be built.
“They have completed all major public infrastructure, the water, natural gas, sewer, and underground storm…city staff have done a great job inspecting that project as it has progressed,” said Diosdado. “Everything that has been put in the ground, it is all to city standard. We recommend adaption of the infrastructure, excluding the things we normally exclude, like cluster mailbox areas, detention ponds, things of that nature. That is mainly for the Home Owners Association to maintain.”
That was during last week’s city council meeting.
Diosdado was also asked why the utility infrastructure is being approved in sections of thirty, instead of the entire neighborhood at once.
“It is because the building code only allows up to 30 lots to be serviced when you have one entrance, mainly. They really just want to do it for efficiency purposes. They want to get started right away,” said Diosdado. “If you go out there, they already have ‘available’ signs in each lot. Technically, they are not available yet, until the plat is approved by Planning & Zoning. But, they want to get ahead, with construction prices, and the uncertainty in that area…they want to get going as quickly as possible.”
Council approved the resolution for underground water, sewer, and other utilities.
Diosdado noted as well that the entire project will be developed over a three to four year period. The plat for the neighborhood will be visited by P&Z at the October 13th meeting.
